Cracked or loose pool tiles and mosaic: causes and repair options
Pool tiles usually crack or come loose because of movement at joints that were tiled over, voids behind the tiles from incomplete adhesive coverage, products not suited to permanent immersion, or water chemistry attacking grout and adhesive. Isolated tiles can often be re-fixed, but widespread hollow tiles or tile failure combined with water loss can point to a problem in the shell or waterproofing that a specialist should investigate first.

How it works
How professional pool leak detection works
A leak detection specialist first confirms and measures the loss, then inspects the usual leak points, uses dye to confirm suspected spots, pressure tests each pipe line in isolation, and finally pinpoints buried leaks with listening equipment. The aim is to know exactly where the leak is before anyone breaks tiles or cuts the deck.

Problem
Leaks from rooftop and podium pools into the apartments below
In a jointly owned building in Dubai, the shared pool is normally a common part, and the management entity is responsible for maintaining and repairing it. Report the damage to building management in writing with photos and dates, and expect them to arrange a leak investigation that confirms the source before anything is opened up.

Pool pump and filter problems: symptoms and what they usually mean
High filter pressure usually means the filter needs cleaning or backwashing; if it stays high afterwards, the media may be clogged, a return valve may be partly closed or the pump may be oversized for the filter. Low pressure and bubbles in the pump basket usually mean a restriction or air entering on the suction side, such as a low water level, blocked baskets or a leaking pump lid.

Problem
Why is my pool losing water? Evaporation or a leak
Every outdoor pool loses water to evaporation, and UAE summer conditions (strong sun, heat, wind, low shade) push that loss up. A bucket test run over two to three days, with the auto-fill switched off, tells you whether the pool is losing more than evaporation explains. If it is, a leak is likely and a leak detection specialist is the right next call.
