Know your pool before you call.
The construction decides which specialist fits and what a repair involves. If you are not sure what you have, the photos and descriptions help.

Concrete with tiles or mosaic
A reinforced concrete shell finished with ceramic tiles or glass mosaic is the most common pool construction in UAE villas, towers and hotels. It allows almost any shape, including overflow and infinity edges. Its long-term performance depends on the shell, the waterproofing and the tile fixing working together.

Concrete with plaster finish
A concrete shell can be finished with plaster, a pebble aggregate or a coloured render instead of tiles. These cement-based finishes give a continuous surface and a natural look. They need steady water chemistry to keep their colour and texture.

Fibreglass
A fibreglass pool is a one-piece shell made in a factory and set into an excavation. Its smooth gelcoat surface is quick to install and easy to keep clean. Its main sensitivities are the gelcoat and the way the shell reacts to ground water when the pool is lowered or emptied.

Vinyl liner
A vinyl liner pool uses a made-to-measure vinyl liner hung inside a wall structure. The liner is the waterproof layer, so its condition decides whether the pool holds water. Liners can often be patched and, when worn, replaced while the walls stay in place.

Stainless steel
Stainless steel pools are built from welded shells or prefabricated steel panels, and are often chosen for rooftops, hotels and projects where weight, installation time or a watertight structure matter. Construction differs between manufacturers. Repairs usually call for a specialist who knows the specific system.

Natural pool
A natural pool cleans its water biologically instead of with chlorine. Water circulates between a swimming zone and a planted regeneration zone, or through a biological filter, where plants and micro-organisms remove nutrients. These pools need specialists who understand both the construction and the biology.
